Gamma Epsilon Zeta
Gamma Epsilon Zeta Chapter was chartered in May 1954. Charter members Emmerline M. Hawkins, Janie M. Simpson, Marion W. Edwards, Mildred M. Morris, Annie E. Byers, Frances L. Alexander, Lula S. Blue, and Mozelle S. Kelsey brought a wealth of information and resources
from their undergraduate Zeta experiences to make the Gamma Epsilon Zeta chapter a force to be reckoned with.
Since its inception, Gamma Epsilon Zeta chapter has been proud of the following accomplishments: upholding a rich tradition of sisterhood, having members serve in various elected and appointed positions in all
levels in the sorority and instilling within our youth auxiliaries the importance of quality education,
having respect for others and oneself, and being proud of our rich heritage. Gamma Epsilon Zeta Chapter
provides service to various charitable organizations and holds annual programs in accordance with the international programmatic efforts of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
Gamma Epsilon Zeta Chapter has excelled in programming through effective chapter management and a
solid commitment to the community. Volunteer activities are monthly with various community
organizations that relate to international goals and programs of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
The chapter has adopted and currently volunteers with numerous organizations, including:
American Cancer Society
American Heart Association
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Cabarrus Victim Assistance Network (CVAN)
Mint To Be of the Carolinas, LLC
March of Dimes
Barber-Scotia College
Gamma Epsilon Zeta has also established partnerships with local area schools through our Adopt-A-School initiative. Gamma Epsilon Zeta Chapter also hosts numerous annual events, including our scholarship event, which awards thousands of dollars to local high school students pursuing a four-year college degree.
Gamma Epsilon Zeta Chapter is the current home chapter for over 30 women from varying career and educational backgrounds.
